Our wooden bird feeder that we have had over a decade became molded. This affected the sunflower seeds. The birds stopped coming.
My husband bought a new feeder. It is plastic. We hope it will resist mold growth.
For several days, no birds arrived, but this morning we had some house finches. They have discovered there are seeds coming out of the bottom of this new bright object in their world. Hope they draw a crowd.
